Cascade is partnering with DANEnet a Madison, WI-based nonprofit, to close the technology access & skills gap in Dane County by providing refurbished donated laptops to low-income households without computers and raising Digital Equity Project funds to support tech education through reselling retired IT equipment.

WHAT IS DANENET’S DIGITAL EQUITY PROJECT?
DANEnet provides tech support and education to local nonprofits and the communities they serve. Their Digital Equity Project (DEP) specifically targets adults on the other side of the digital divide: low-income families, seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities who don’t have computers in their homes or who want to learn basic computer skills.
The Digital Equity Project provides:
SUPPORTING DIGITAL EQUITY THROUGH IT ASSET DISPOSITION
Your business or institution can contract with Cascade to securely manage your IT disposal with DANEnet as the beneficiary of any qualifying equipment or resale profits. Qualifying laptops will be securely wiped, refurbished, and supplied to DANEnet for distribution through their Digital Equity Project. Other IT equipment will be securely wiped and either retired or resold, with proceeds going to the Digital Equity Project. Learn more.
IS THERE A COST?
Costs to test, erase, and load new operating systems are charged through fees. Fees may be covered by the sale of some of the equipment. In the event an organization requires the disposition of other devices not for donation, fees may apply.
