Sustainability, Renewable Energy, ESG Goals
April 15, 2025 – Starting on Earth Day, April 22nd, Cascade will source all our electricity from renewable energy resources. Our Orlando, Florida plant is joining the SunChoice Program from our local utility (OUC). By investing in the growth of the solar powered energy infrastructure in our community, we help reduce pollution and promote our sustainability practices. It also means that all the electricity we use to test and refurbish computer equipment, disassemble electronics for recycling, and shred hard drives and media for recycling comes from renewable energy resources like the sun and wind.
We already participate in renewable energy programs at our Indianapolis and Madison plants. Last year, 84.23% of all our electricity was derived from solar or wind power. That allowed us to avoid 200 metric tons of CO2 emissions that would have been generated from gas powered electricity plants. That’s the equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 201 acres of U.S. forests in one year.
Not only do our clients know that our reuse and recycling promote the sustainable use of materials, but they can also rest assured that our production processes are sustainable.
