TECHQUITY
HELPING BRIDGE THE DIGITAL DIVIDE WITH DONATED LAPTOPS, DESKTOPS, AND TABLETS

Cascade, which is now Sage Sustainable Electronics, is partnering with United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County to provide laptops, desktops, and tablets to those in need. A second option for our clients is to donate the profits they generate from reselling their retired IT equipment.
- For businesses and institutions looking to DONATE used technology assets, please contact us via the form field below.
- For community members and organizations interested in RECEIVING donated computers and tablets, please contact the United Way.
WHAT IS TECHQUITY?
Techquity is a new collective impact initiative of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County. Cascade, now Sage Sustainable Electronics, is a long-time sponsor and active participant in the program.
HOW IS SAGE INVOLVED?
Since 1999, we have helped enterprises extend the useful life of their devices. We make the process easy as a single point of contact to manage logistics, data destruction, refurbishing, donation management, certified recycling, and detailed reporting of how each device was processed.
WHO CAN DONATE?
Businesses and institutions can donate resale proceeds or devices processed by Sage to the Techquity project. At this time, donations from households are not accepted.
HOW DO WE DONATE?
There are two methods to provide the resources United Way needs:

HOW DOES MY ORGANIZATION BENEFIT?
Your donations to Techquity help the community provide technological access and resources to those in need. Any financial contributions to fund equipment purchases may also be a tax-deductible expense.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OUR DEVICES?
All devices processed by Sage will have their data sanitized to NIST 800-88 guidelines. Equipment meeting Techquity specifications will be refurbished, imaged with a new Windows license, and prepared for delivery to the United Way agency. Other devices will be tested, resold, or recycled in accordance with strict e-Stewards standards.
IS THERE A COST?
The costs to test, erase, and load new operating systems are covered through fees to Sage, which may be offset by resale proceeds
