Through partnerships with several charities, Cascade is working to distribute 10,000 quality refurbished devices to deserving communities in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Florida. Our participation in United Way’s Techquity and DANEnet’s Digital Equity programs are two examples of our commitment to this initiative.

Cascade is a full-service IT disposition company, guiding organizations through the entire process of device retirement. We streamline the process by handling secure data destruction, refurbishment, and resale, along with responsible recycling of nonfunctioning items. Not only do we ensure your company’s tech donations are handled efficiently, but we also offer detailed reporting of how each device was processed.

DONATE USABLE EQUIPMENT

If your organization has identified a nonprofit that accepts specific device types, Cascade can assist with device processing including secure data wiping, testing, and refurbishment. For devices that don’t qualify for the program, we can process and resell them to help offset fees.

DONATE RESALE PROCEEDS

Rather than donating equipment, you can contribute to digital equity by donating the proceeds from the resale of retired devices. This option empowers nonprofits to purchase what they need whether it’s internet access, new hardware, user education, or tech support.

Cascade will help you generate funds through our Equipment Resale Services. Devices are wiped, tested, refurbished, and then resold via Cascade Marketplace, eBay, Amazon, Walmart, or through our established network of dealers and wholesalers. The profits are then shared with your organization. This income often covers the device processing costs, while also enabling the company to direct the remaining funds to the desired charity. Donating these proceeds can offer tax advantages, as the funds directed to charity are not taxed as income.

IS THERE A COST?

The cost of transporting, testing, erasing, and loading new operating systems is charged through fees. Cascade will also identify any applicable donation management fees, license fees, installation costs, and packing costs. If an organization requires the disposition of other devices that are not suitable for donation, fees will apply. However, by applying profits generated from equipment resale, Cascade can reduce or eliminate an organization’s out-of-pocket expenses.

COMPLETE REPORTING FOR COMPLIANCE AND ESG GOALS

Cascade offers detailed reports on donated devices and resale proceeds, which are particularly useful for companies producing Corporate Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reports. This data enables organizations to highlight their contributions to charitable programs and impact on the community.
